♣ Who am I? ♣ Hi! My name is Marshay! I am from America and currently living here in the southern US. I am a welcoming person. I am passionate about making connections around the world. I want to show students that they can be their very best. Of course, sometimes being their very best takes a bit of practice, but I'm willing to assist them in any way possible. You can't fail unless you give up! ♥ Perseverance ♥ Patience So, I am a unique teacher in that I am sincerely concerned about your progress and goals. I believe things should be explained with clarity and it's effective and good to ask questions. There is never a bad question. My job is to help motivate you and encourage you even when the progress seems difficult. I welcome students of all levels~ ♪ My English Style ♪♫♪♫♫♪♫♫♪ I have over three years of experience teaching English. I've also taught other things such as science and health topics. Much of this was done with exchange students at a local college International Department with diverse students from China, South Korea, Africa, Japan, and Vietnam. We studied English essays, conversational English, and TOFEL questions. Also, I've done online audio and video calls for English teaching and assisted others to grow in their conversational skills, writing, grammar, and fluency. I have a TEFL certification and specialized in IELTS. Many of those I taught commented that our frequent English practice helped them with their English skill, in addition to building vocabulary and confidence! I love using different materials based on your interests and current level. I could use any of the following: ○ Articles (news, international, fitness, health, cooking) ○ Audio Books ○ Grammar exercises ○ Children's story books ○ Videos ▲▲Work outside of class is important for growth so I support applications like WeChat and Line.▲▲ I like to focus on conversational practice, reading, writing, small talk, vocabulary building, and using proper grammar. I am a supporter of homework, books, current events, IELTS prep, and articles to help progress your English. I have worked in the healthcare industry for a few years and I am currently a student as well. I am furthering my education in premedical studies and International Studies. So, if you have any interest in learning science, health, or related things I would love to help you with English topics related to that! I'm a bit of a nerd and I love learning new things, especially about other countries! My focal area of interest is in Asian culture and language. This is currently the geographical region I have researched the most. Nonetheless, I enjoy all nations! But, most of all, I feel that learning should be enjoyable; If it's not enjoyable then who wants to spend hours doing it? I have many interests including cooking, international foods, exercise, nutrition, history, culture, and whatever you guys enjoy talking about! I look forward to starting this journey with you!
