IELTS preparation - We begin the lesson with working on what the student needs to improve, grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation or methods and strategies to answer questions -Next we focus on practicing the questions themselves. I offer corrections as well as idea and advice. We then go over the same questions again so students can put into practice what they have learned. English conversation - these lessons are very flexible depending on what the student enjoys, but as an example- -We begin with a little free-talk -Next we spend a little time working on either pronunciation, grammar or vocabulary -The rest of the class is spent practising talking. I believe the student should speak a lot more than the teacher! Activities may include, general discussion, scenarios and role-plays, giving opinions, sharing stories from our own lives, talking about current events and watching short videos or reading short passages and discussing them. Medical English -These classes are more structured. -Depending on your level of English we systematically work through the body systems, looking at relevant vocabulary and medical terms -Role-plays - we practice real-life scenarios, for example, one of us will take the part of the patient and one will take the part of doctor or nurse. -It is not really possible for someone who has not worked in the health field to teach medical English as well as someone who has. -Practice listening and reading medical English with relevant and useful materials. Writing -Instruction on how to write an essay' -Help with vocabulary and linking words -Essay correction packages available.
